Each workshop offers a unique focus, equipping professionals with practical tools to address children’s needs in therapeutic, educational, and community settings.

Workshop 1: Foundations of the KidSoma Method
6 Principles for Systemic Facilitation

This foundational workshop introduces the six guiding principles of the KidSoma Method and the DAST Framework (Development, Adaptive Skills, Stress Activation, and Trauma-Harm). Participants will explore a
systemic approach to support children holistically, whether helping them expand their abilities or recover from stress and trauma.

Key Components
What Will Participants Learn?

  • To recognize predictable patterns in behavior and adaptability.
  • To apply somatic techniques for emotional regulation and resilience.
  • To integrate the DAST framework for precise and responsive facilitation.
  • To foster growth and recovery simultaneously in a single session.

The Six Core Practices of the KidSoma Method

The Six Core Practices of the KidSoma Method provide facilitators with essential tools and perspectives to navigate the challenges of working with children in today’s electronic and social media-driven environment. In 2025, we are facing a facilitation crisis where the complexity of children’s behaviors often surpasses the available time and tools to intervene effectively. The KidSoma Method equips practitioners to see children through a systemic lens, offering a dynamic and fluid approach to addressing the root causes of behaviors rather than merely reacting to their effects. By integrating these practices, professionals can feel confident and empowered to work with even the most complex cases, fostering meaningful growth and resilience in children.

  1. Navigating Awareness
Support children in balancing their focus between inner sensations and the external world, fostering connection and self-regulation.
  2. Regulating the Nervous System
Help children recognize and manage stress responses, guiding them toward emotional balance and resilience.
  3. Aligning with Task Sequence
Adapt to the natural phases of a task - readiness, action, and integration - to maintain engagement and support meaningful completion.
  4. Nurturing Creative Ideas
Encourage curiosity and intrinsic motivation, helping children trust and develop their unique ideas.
  5. Sustaining Constructive Flow
Guide children in staying focused on their tasks while recognizing when shifts or pauses are needed foroptimal progress.
  6. Supporting Growth Cycles
Observe and nurture children’s learning cycles, integrating new skills and fostering reflection forcontinuous development.

Workshop 2: Fostering Creative-Constructive Capacity in Children
Rebuilding the Creative-Constructive Fabric

This workshop delves into the essential processes of creativity and construction, focusing on how to nurture these capacities in children to promote their development, problem-solving abilities, and selfesteem.
In today’s world, where the constant use of electronics and social media has disrupted children’s creative flow and ability to constructively engage, it’s vital to restore this “fabric” as a foundation for their personal growth.

We will explore the three core practices of the KidSoma Method that are crucial to this process:

  • Nurturing Creative Ideas:
Understanding the importance of helping children generate and trust their unique ideas as a pathway to their identity and autonomy.
  • Aligning with Task Sequence:
Guiding children through the natural progression of tasks - beginning, middle, and end - to develop focus, persistence, and satisfaction in their actions.
  • Sustaining Constructive Flow:
Supporting children to stay engaged while recognizing when shifts or breaks are needed to foster meaningful progression.
